Gwyneth Paltrow has been accused of sexualising children after endorsing a range of bikinis for girls as young as four.
The actress has long been a fan of Melissa Odabash’s creations, described by Vogue as the ‘Ferraris of swimwear’.
The designer’s sought-after bikinis have won her a host of celebrity followers – from Rihanna to Kelly Brook.

Controversy: Oscar-winner Gwyneth is in the firing line over the little girls' bikinis on sale on her website
But her new two-piece for little girls, which is sold exclusively on Miss Paltrow’s Goop lifestyle website, has caused concern among children’s campaigners who claim it is just another attempt to make them grow up too quickly.
The halterneck swimsuit, which costs £30, is covered in ruffles and appears to be available in both black and navy. It comes in sizes for girls of four, six and eight.

The range, labelled Melissa Odabash for Goop, also includes a romper suit described as ‘super-cute’ and a kaftan with a deep v-neck collar.
The website says the design is perfect for little girls who want to match their mothers, as the top is an exact copy of the adult version – also sold on the website.

Miss Paltrow’s decision to promote the range to her thousands of followers comes months after Elizabeth Hurley was accused of sexualising girls with her own swimwear collection.
Miss Hurley’s range included an leopard-print ‘Mini Cha Cha Bikini’ which was modelled by a blonde child with both hands placed on her hips.
The site selling the bikinis, which were aimed at eight to 13-year-olds, described the designs as ‘great for girls who want to look grown up’.

Attempts have been made in recent years to curb the sale of sexually suggestive clothing aimed at children.
A Government-commissioned review saw a new deal drawn up by the British Retail Consortium. This prevents shops stocking items such as padded bras for young girls.
But despite the support of major retailers including Next and Debenhams, the agreement can still only be signed up to on a voluntary basis.
Claude Knight of charity Kidscape said yesterday: ‘We remain very opposed to the sexualisation of children and of childhood.
‘The dangers have been discussed at length, so it is a great pity that such trends continue and that they carry celebrity endorsement.’
Miss Paltrow, who is married to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, has two children: Apple, eight, and Moses, six.
She launched her Goop website in 2008, describing it as a collection of musings about the things that make her life special.
However it is not the first time she has been criticised for her online postings. Her advice has been described as patronising.
In March her tips for giving your wardrobe a spring spruce-up would have cost a reader a staggering £301,556.
And recently dieticians accused her of starving her children, after she admitted their strict gluten-free diet left them with a ‘specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs’.
A spokesman for Miss Paltrow called the criticism ‘absurd’. He added: ‘Two-piece bathing suits have been worn by young girls for decades.’
