In 2008, a 38-year-old father, William McKee took finasteride, a generic version of the drug Propecia, to cure baldness. But as claimed by him, after consuming this drug, he has turned into a woman. The pills have widened his hips and shoulders and he had developed breasts.
As far as his hair growth is concerned, there is very minimal improvement. He used to take one pill of this drug daily and he continued with this medication for nine months. When he discovered his hard-chest becoming softer, and hips becoming loose; he immediately stopped the drug but by that time, enough prominent changes were seen on his body, due to which he suffered a lot. His work, personal life and public image; all got shattered and even his wife left him after 10 years of married life.
This is not for the first time that such a lawsuit has been filed. Prior to this, similar incidences are heard by men from 27 different US states. Drug taken to cure the baldness has destroyed their sexuality.
In this regard, a spokesman for the drug company Merck said, "No casual relationship has been established between Propecia and persistent sexual side-effects". William Mckee, better known as Mandi, wears women's clothes now and is planning to get breast enhancement surgery soon.
