The wrecked plane that crashed into a suburban Montana home looks like something out of a Hollywood movie, but is actually the scene of a remarkable crash that all three on-board survived.
The small, low-flying plane had just refuelled at nearby Kalispell City Airport before it started puttering and rapidly descended into a two-story house.
The homeowner was in a different area of the house at the time, and the two dogs and three humans on the plane walked away from the incident with only minor cuts and bruises.

Miraculous: The three people in the plane were unharmed after it crashed upside down into this Kalispell, Montana home
‘All of a sudden we heard this plane. It started sputtering out. It came over our house and started crashing through trees and went down the street where it ended up upside down in somebody's house,’ witness Gary Sams told Montana’s KPAX.
The names of the two female passengers and male pilot are not being released, but some of the neighbors who helped at the crash site spoke with the lucky survivors.

‘I talked to the pilot — he said he just gassed up at the airport,” said Rhonda Brensinger, who was in her home across the street at the time of the crash.
‘He went to take off and as he was making his turn around, it started putting.’

Aid: Neighbors were able to help the passengers out of the plane before emergency workers arrived to the scene
The plane crashed around 1.30pm Saturday, and neighbors immediately called 911 before rushing over to help the trapped passengers.
‘We started digging into the side of the plane, and a couple of dogs came out first. And then we heard some muffling noises,’ Mr Sams said.
‘We dug a little further and there was a passenger hanging upside down. She said 'get me out of here,' and that's what we did.’
The other woman and the pilot actually exited the plane by going through the front door of the house that they had hit.
In addition to the human survivors, there was a toy poodle and a sheep dog on board as well. In one report, a witness said that it looked like the sheep dog had ‘lost his claws’, but that has not been confirmed.
‘It's pretty amazing actually, if you look at the amount of damage. How they were able to self-extricate from that plane and walk away,’ said fire chief Dave Dedman.

The plane had just refuelled at a nearby airport before the crash
‘I don't understand how they did that, but luckily they did.’
Mr Dedman said that the passengers refused medical treatment when the police and fire crews arrived on the scene, but they did end up going to the Kalispell hospital on their own later in the day.
The man whose house was the site of the crash landing was upstairs at the time of the impact, and was unharmed.
‘He did assist the passengers of the plane out of the plane itself, so we thank him for that,’ Mr Dedman told KPAX.
Both the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are going to investigate the Kalispell crash, which is in North western Montana.
